I have served as a Labour Borough Council Leader for over 10 years, worked on a number of local government and public sector panels and delivered public sector reform at a local and county level.

With a wide range of experience in both the public and private sectors, I believe I bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to understanding the state of local services in Lancashire and the North West of England.

I do not profess to have all of the answers, however, the longer I spend in the world of public service and in particular local government, it becomes evident that there is much work to do.  This is particularly the case given the financial and practical restrictions on delivering that work.

I approach these issues from a position as both a committed socialist and Labour Party member, but also as an ordinary person who works in a frantic industry (construction).  Like many of us, I have to juggle family, work and other commitments.  However, my passion and enthusiasm to help others drive me to work hard in order to bring about real change and seek to benefit from the opportunities available.

In my view, it is a simple premise that we all need to be Healthier, Wealthier and Happier whilst ensuring we leave a great legacy for future generations.

Therefore, via this site I want to bring information and my thoughts on current issues to your attention, to hopefully inform and enable better and more joined-up decision-making to benefit all residents and communities.

I believe that the Labour Party in Lancashire has a vital role in delivering this vision.  We can all see on a daily basis the absolute mess that the Tory party both nationally and locally is making.  It is clear they have completely run out of ideas.

I want to see Labour deliver that Happier, Healthier and Wealthier Future for us all.
